Our wheelchair fund is an initiative that has been created to allow more of our members participate in the activities we offer.
Archery
Archery is a sport for all, and is a recognized sport in both the Olympics and Paralympics One of the problems that face us at the Protea Sports Club is that we are unable to grow the sport of archery for our disabled members because our field is riddled with weeds and thorns.
This may not be a problem to most, but results in wheelchair tires guaranteed to get a puncture when we venture on the field.
To this end, we are looking to build concrete runways on the field to cater for wheelchair archers, and in so doing allow us to train and produce world class champions.
The Cost
Estimates to create four concrete runways, each 90m long, and with ramps to reach the runway is in the region of R120,000 using local labour with volunteers. If you can help us achieve this goal please contact us.

The Wheelchair Fund
Wheelchairs are an essential part of our sporting activities. More often than not, we deprive members from participating in sports because we simply don't have enough.
In addition, they break from time to time and need maintenance. If you can help us either repair wheelchairs, have a wheelchair that you can donate, or help us financially, contact Steve De Lange on
(021) 712-5520 or email us.
